2 billion 600 million grant approved for Nepal by the World Bank

Kathmandu. The World Bank has approved a grant equal to 2.6 billion rupees or 20 million dollars to support the food and nutrition security enhancement project of the Government of Nepal.
According to the bank, this project aims to benefit more than 55,000 small farmers in 16 rural villages of Nepal through agricultural productivity and nutrition practices.
“The national goal of the Government of Nepal is to achieve food and nutrition security and reduce poverty in accordance with the commitment to realize the goal of sustainable development and the challenge of zero hunger,” said Faris Hadad Jervos, Country Director of the World Bank for Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
According to the World Bank, the project will help the government’s efforts to improve the nutritional security of marginalized communities along with productivity and livelihoods.
