Washington DC. American multinational technology company Apple is going to start making tools and parts as well. The White House said on Tuesday that independent repair shops in the United States and customers all over the country will start making parts and tools for repairing phones at a reasonable price, as well as keeping the necessary documentation for the same.

Lael Brainard, director of the National Economic Council, said this at the White House late Tuesday, focusing on the right of customers to repair damaged phones. Brainard has also urged Congress to pass a bill to give this right to all customers across the country.

The program was also a part of President Joe Biden’s efforts to promote competition in the market and tighten the ‘letter’ fee that consumers have to pay when making phones. This effort has been made to give more rights to the customers to repair the damaged goods, be it a tractor or a smartphone.

California, Colorado, New York, and Minnesota have already passed laws allowing them to repair damaged goods. 30 other states have also introduced similar bills. This law obliges companies to make and keep records of the parts and tools needed to repair their products after they break down.

Apple devices are difficult to fix when they break. The company has been criticized for not providing much support for the maintenance of damaged equipment. In recent years, the company has become somewhat flexible in this matter in the US.
